Babcock Wilderness Adventures' Visitor's Area
A visit to Babcock Wilderness Adventures isn't just about the eco-tours. Make your visit to the ranch complete by spending some time leisurely perusing the museum and exhibits, selecting a souvenir from the Babcock Country Store before (or after) you enjoy lunch at The Gator Shack.
Babcock Country Store
The gift shop is a perfect place to find a great souvenir to remember your visit to the ranch or find the perfect gift for someone special. Not only do we offer a diverse selection of T-shirts, hats, books and toys, but items like BBQ and hot sauces, jellies and alligator jerky. Our unique ranch-themed gifts make the Babcock Country Store unlike any gift shop you'll find in Southwest Florida. Our gift shop highlights items that can only be purchased on the ranch like photographs taken by our resident photographer, Cheryl Dierken and a video of how our cowboys use Cur dogs to round up the cattle. By far, one of our past visitor's favorites in the Babcock Country Store is Saw Palmetto Honey made from honeybees that pollinate the saw palmettos found throughout the ranch.
The Gator Shack
Open daily, the Gator Shack offers mouth-watering ranch fare. Most often frequented for lunch, the menu includes main dishes-we call them Ranch Vittles- like burgers, wraps, chili and salads. Before you ask- YES, the Gator Shack does serve Gator Bites. Combos can be added to any Ranch Vittle which includes a Partner (side) and a beverage for only a $1.50 more. Buy an Adventure Combo Ticket and lunch will be included with your tour for an even bigger discount. For a full list of menu items, click here
The Gator Shack can also provide your group with a catered lunch. Menu items are limited for catered events, but choices are provided. Arrangements for catering must be made when you call to book your group's reservation. Please ask us for more information.
Museum & Exhibits
Learn more about the operations on the ranch by exploring our small museum and exhibit area. The museum itself is a piece of movie magic- and was a part of the original set of the 1995 blockbuster hit, "Just Cause" (starring Sean Connery and Lawrence Fishborne) that was filmed in part on Babcock Ranch. The museum and exhibit area highlights the operations that have taken place on the ranch through the years and some of the animals often seen on the ranch.
Eco-Trail
Are you the type of adventurer who likes to get their hands dirty and be right down in the wild itself? Then don't forget to hike our eco-trail that wanders through upland pine flatwoods and scrub ecosystems. Entrance to the trail is adjacent to the visitor area. Vehicles must remain in the visitor area parking lot and we ask that all hikers return by no later than 4 pm daily.
